Adaptogenic Herbs: A Powerhouse Solution

When it comes to anxious or down moments, life can be severely affected. Heavy emotions, and overall exhaustion can affect friendships, health, and just generally sap enjoyment out of life. Many want to use natural methods to try to support their bodies through these moments… but where to begin. Google, natural remedies for “depression” or “increased energy” and you’ll have a massive and overwhelming list of suggestions.
Of course, I love essential oils for occasional down thoughts or an energetic boost, but there are some other natural remedies to consider. One of the most widely accepted and explored remedies is in the area of adaptogenic herbs. Let’s explore adaptogens, and why you might want to consider including them in your everyday wellness routine.

What are they?
Adaptogenic herbs are simply non toxic plants that help your body handle stress more effectively. Most often this is seen in the way they support the adrenals and hormone levels. The adrenals are heavily taxed when stressed and often this stress response has a direct correlation to our emotional state.
In today’s world, our bodily demand for energy can be exceptionally high. Our exposure to hormonally disruptive chemicals, emf exposure, blue light, lack of sleep, low nutrition and an overall packed schedule, can all challenge our adrenal glands to keep up. These herbs are one great way to support your bodies excellent systems to manage stress. Look into the various adaptogenic herbs and see what might help you. Be sure to cross reference safety studies to ensure that you’ve chosen a safe dosage and strand.
